I have always been encouraged to follow my dreams, for that I’m thankful. Recently, when I started pondering teaching less and writing more, my husband told me that he fully supported my decision but he would love it if I chose something and stuck to it soon. That really got me thinking. I have constantly added to my education, taking on new certifications and teaching new classes along the way. That’s what I love about the childbirth field, you will never know it all, there is always something new to learn. However with my move towards writing and focusing on self esteem and image, this was something entirely new. In a way, I felt like I was throwing all of my other experience away, which is what my husband was worried about too. Am I just throwing away all of that money, all of that time, and all of that experience?
.
The answer I came to was no, absolutely not. Every single class I’ve taken has been a stepping stone for me. Since I started going to school, every class has taught me something. I know for a fact that I wouldn’t be where I am now, professionally, unless I took all of those steps before.

I see so many people who have dreams of what they really want to do for a living, but they are too scared to quit the security of their day jobs and make the leap. I know it is a scary leap and it isn’t always successful right away, but it is so worth it. I will never have to look back on my life and wonder what it would have been like if I would have done this or that. I have been able to try everything that I really wanted to try and I am so thankful for that.
.
Big thanks are due to my family; to my mom and dad, first and foremost. They always encouraged me and told me I could really do whatever it is I wanted to do. Thanks to my husband who rarely understands what I am doing, but encourages me anyway. I know he worries when he sees the fire in my eyes, but he never puts out the flame. Of course all of my friends and family deserve big thanks as well, for always being there to listen and love me through it all.
