I was thinking of how I often tell new mommas to be patient with themselves and their babies, especially when they are learning the fine art of breastfeeding. I remind them that they’ve never done this before (even if it’s their 10th baby, they’ve never breastfed that baby) and to remember there is a learning curve there.
.
What great advice that is, if I do say so myself… not just for motherhood and breastfeeding, but for life. Why don’t we approach each day with plenty of patience and an understanding that we will have plenty to learn, that we don’t know it all. After all, we’ve never had this day before. Sure we may be at the same job we’ve had for years, or in the same routine, but this day is entirely new. We have new choices and new decisions to make today.
.
If you happen to mess up and get down on yourself for it, remember to be patient, you’ve never done this before. Give yourself your patience, understanding and love… you deserve it every day.
