This month I tried out the Fleurcup and the ImseVimse and Minx cloth pads, which were donated to me from Teresa Francis at Feminine Wear (www.femininewear.co.uk). Thank you so much Teresa!
.

To be totally honest, I thought one cup was pretty much the same as the other, I mean how could they be that different?! It’s just a cup that collects blood… Well, I was taught a big lesson about cups this month.
.
The Fleurcup is made from 100% medical grade silicone and is hypoallergenic. They offer the cup in a small size for adolescents, young women or for women with light periods. They also offer a larger size for women who have already given birth or for women with heavy periods. The Fleurcup also comes in 9 colors, so you can have a little fun with that (I got a red one!).
.

I loved the Fleurcup! What makes it so wonderful you ask? First, I loved that the cup is relatively smooth on the outside, not a lot of creases or crevices that you have to clean later. I also love the stem; I am used to the Moon Cup, which has an open stem where blood can get trapped. The stem on the Fleurcup is solid with little ridges that really help when you are pulling it out.
.

As far as comfort, it was just as comfortable as other cups I’ve tried out, once it’s in, I never feel it at all. This seemed to collect the blood on my heavy day a little better than others. I had minor leaking, which is very normal on my heaviest days, no matter what I use.
.
The part I didn’t like about the cup is the air holes at the top, but really I don’t like this about any cup, even though I know it’s a necessity. They are just trouble to clean!
.

I used the Minx and ImseVimse pad with the Fleurcup on my heavy days, since I know that I usually leak. The Minx was nice since it is fairly small even though it is the heavy flow pad. The ImseVimse was very long, which was actually kind of nice, so I didn’t have to worry about it sliding out of place and not catching the blood flow. However, I could see some people not liking the length of that one.

.

I wanted to try the cloth tampon this month, but didn’t get the chance… I liked the Fleurcup too much to try anything else. Next month I will be trying the cloth tampon and the MeLuna menstrual cup. I will also have a giveaway for a MeLuna menstrual cup, so make sure you stay tuned for that!

Thanks for this wonderful review :-)
About the holes. They have to be in every menstrual cup so that suction can be released. But I have a tip for you.
To clean the holes use one of those tiny brushes, you can find them in the toothbrush section in any store, they are used for cleaning between your teeth and they are the perfect size.
Thanks again x
